I am pleased to report that the old railway line between Slapewath and Boosbeck which forms part of the new NCN168 has now been finished. On Tuesday 2nd November 2011 was the official opening ceremony of the re-routed NCN1 through Eston and Grangtown. Pictured above is the Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland (Olwyn Peters) with Sustrans Rangers and staff from Redcar & Cleveland council. The route now takes you along Birchington Avenue, Grangtown avoiding the pinch points on the Eston Greenway. |
